The past weekend was very, very busy. See the last post for the Harry Chapin Memorial Run story on Sunday. Joe spent Saturday doing his paintball thing with a dozen other boys in the woods near one of his classmates houses. I spent most of Saturday and into Sunday with Tim. First at his football game Saturday morning and then at the Thunderbird games, with lots of cub scouts and their families on Croton Point.
Unfortunately Tim’s team lost (again), but he played very well. For the first time in four games, he was against players who were not as big as him – it seems like he’s always lined up against the other team’s biggest guys – and he really was clobbering them.
Tim is pushing around #’s 74 and 21 in these pictures.

Then we were off to the Thunderbird games. We overnighted with our scout pack. Very cold Saturday night, but we had a good tent and good sleeping bags.
Here are two pictures of one of the campfires – without flash and then with flash

This is Patti Mead, Tim’s Den mother (She’s terrific!!) showing the boys how to cook an egg by putting it in a sandwich bag and then dropping it into boiling water for about four minutes. Tim did his beautifully – no shell in the bag – and cooked it perfectly. Then he didn’t like it!

Tim and some of his mates Sunday morning. Lots of tents up on Croton Point. He’s wearing my old short down jacket.

Here are a couple of pictures on Croton Point, about a quarter mile down the hill from where we were camping. Anyone from Croton will know exactly where these were taken.

We carried our stuff back to the car Sunday morning. Here’s the Webelo himself.
