Today was the third of the first four Rituxin treatments I am getting post- chemotherapy. The next and last series will be in four months.
Before the treatment I was seen by my original oncologist, Dr. Wasserheit. I hadn’t seen her in several months, and she was quite plesed to see that I’d weathered all my chemotherapy pretty well. She is hopeful that I will not have a recurrence, although I pointed out to her that Dr. Zelenetz, the lymphoma guru, does not have that level of optimism.
In any event, there is no sign of the bacterial or yeast infections. The only issue is that my blood counts – WBC’s and hemaglobin – are still on the low side.
But I feel good. For the first time since March 4th, I went into the basement and worked with the dumbbells. I’d lost all that time with the chest and yeast infections! It actually went a little better then I expected.
