We have this very interesting and charming neighbor, Sue Konig. She’s a writer and recently published a very witty book, Amazon.com: Books: Why Animals Sleep So Close to the Road (and Other Lies I Tell My Children) which I’ve been giving as a gift to many of my friends. A nice breezy, funny book.
We share a few things in common, like our children go to the same parochial school (St. Augustine’s, on the Ossining, Croton border). Sue writes free lance, & here’s her latest column. http://www.nationalreview.com/script/printpage.p?ref=/skonig/konig200510280735.asp It tells the tale of her oldest daughter’s first "dance" – in the sixth grade. My son Joe is a year older, so he had his first "dance" last year (Joe’s not too interested in girls, but is interested in hanging out). Anyone who has – or had – junior high school children will find it amusing. Sue tells me the piece was also posted by CBSNews.com, where it will get a bit more exposure then on Tom Faranda’s Folly.
