Easter afternoon hike in the Brinton Brook Sanctaury

A solo 4.5 mile trek by myself – Brigid and family back at the hacienda cooking up a storm (What a deal – I get out, they cook for me!)

Brinton Brook is less than ten minutes from my house and a nice hike. Map below and typical northeast woodland terrain. The trail take you up and then takes you down – and then up again, and then down again…

Here’s the pond –

Ahh! A bench named in honor of my friend Rudy –

And here’s a part of the view from the bench – looking down about 160′, you can barely make out a wooden slat trail running across the middle of the picture.

Here’s the ground view of that section – only a couple of short areas have the raised wooden trail.

People who walk Brinton will recognize this interesting rock formation and the plaque that is on it.

When I arrived at the small parking area around noon there were no other cars. Here’s the lot around 1:40 – my Edge on the far left. Brinton Brook Sanctuary is very lovely but hardly gets visited.
