Among other things, Peter of Alcantara was the counselor to Saint Teresa of Avila (a great reformer and Doctor of the Church – my favorite Saint since I read her book a few years ago The Interior Castle. For a bit more about her, go here). He was born in 1499 and lived 'til 1562.
Amazing to learn about this St. Peter of Alcantara and his connection to St. Teresa of Avila. I loved her incredible book the Interior Castle. Will have to look for his book. Thanks for posting this.
