Ha! It took them realizing they could score political points against Herschel Walker! Could get that NY Times writer fired (hit the "conceived the child" link below) … The point is made in NRO, article here –
What to Make of the Herschel Walker Abortion Allegation?
In case you missed it, on Monday night the Daily Beast reported the following October surprise about the Georgia GOP Senate candidate:
A woman who asked not to be identified out of privacy concerns told The Daily Beast that after she and Walker conceived a child while they were dating in 2009 he urged her to get an abortion. The woman said she had the procedure and that Walker reimbursed her for it.
She supported these claims with a $575 receipt from the abortion clinic, a “get well” card from Walker, and a bank deposit receipt that included an image of a signed $700 personal check from Walker.
(An aside: The New York Times also uses the language that Walker “conceived the child” with the woman. If you were wondering what it would take to get the paper of record to acknowledge the scientific fact that new human life exists from the moment of conception, now you know.)
Walker forcefully denied the allegation on Monday night, calling it a “flat-out lie” and saying that he was planning to “sue the Daily Beast for this defamatory lie,” but on Tuesday, Walker’s lawyer said no final decision had been reached on a lawsuit.
