Friday cocktail – the classic Hunter

As opposed to the more contemporary Hunter which I will feature next week.

I’ve started the video at the four minute mark – Anders is making three variations of the Hunter and that’s where the classic Hunter starts. Very easy, only two ingredients Farandaville recipe (identical to the one in the video) is below.

Farandaville recipe –

1 and 1/2 oz. Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey (it is a 100 proof whiskey)

1/2 oz Herring Liqueur (a cherry liqueur – the classic for this particular cocktail)

So a 3:1 ratio.

Combine both with ice in a mixing glass, stir for 20-30 seconds and then pour! No garnish but you can add one if you’d like. Optionally add a modest chunk of ice to your drink.

Easy peasy!
