Winter didn't freeze out region's homebuyers
For the second consecutive month there has been a decline in sales of existing homes nationally. The drop was 6 percent in December, and more of the same is expected for January and February when those numbers are announced, said the National Association of Realtors.

Not so for markets in Westchester.
There has been good business in this post holiday and pre-spring period, said J. Philip Faranda, broker/owner of Philip Real Estate LLC, and president of Hudson Gateway MLS.
"I can understand how the national numbers would be dragged down a bit by the very extreme weather we see in other regions of the country. Overall, I expect the market to catch up as people dig out in the snow belt," he added.
