Brigid took off last evening for ND. She will be going to the “alternate commencement” on the Notre Dame campus, for those who object to President Obama’s receiving an honorary degree, as well as his being the commencement speaker. The issue of course is why is Notre Dame honoring a fanatical abortion promoter? I have posted a bunch of times about this, with the last two here Speaking truth to power: Alan Keyes arrested at Notre Dame while saying the rosary and here Judge John Noonan will replace Mary Ann Glendon at Notre Dame Commencement .
Anyway, she drove up to an “undisclosed location” near Port Jervis and met up with the famous (or infamous depending on your perspective on abortion) Joan Andrews Bell. They left from there in a van with four of Joan’s children and three other adults and are driving through the night (I am posting this just after midnight) to arrive Saturday morning. The commencements are Sunday.
While I expect they’ll be more graduating seniors at the regular commencement, there’s likely to be many more people at the alternate one; many pro-life people are likely to attend. We will see on Sunday.
