Chinchilla “wilding”

As posted here a few days ago Newcomer to Farandaville, we now have a second Chinchilla. Brigid and Joe and Tim decided to introduce the two year old Gloria, to the newcomer, whose name now seems to be Dusty Snowball (Tim insists on the Snowball part) by putting Gloria in the cage with Dusty. This is actually the second time they’ve done it, but the first time I’ve seen it. Last night they had a sand bath togther, but Tim and I missed that – we were doing a Midnite Run to Manhattan.

By the by, we’re told they’re both females …

That’s Joe’s arm below

Now just to be fair, and so she doesn’t feel bad, here are a couple of pictures of our guinea pig, Trinity (I know, three rodents – it’s nuts). Trinity got her name from her three-colored muzzle – and we got her on Trinity Sunday.

Trinity replaced our previous guinea pig, Vindabel, who went to guinea pig heaven (or wherever) quite suddenly in May, 2006. Sad news in farandaville as guinea pig leaves us . one of those true family mini-tragedies. Hit the link to see how she got her name.

Vindabel was really quite beautiful – here she is –

  1. I think you’re going to attract some new readers to your blog Tom – chilla fans – like those panda baby fans who followed every breath of the baby panda in the D.C. zoo a few years back – all for the good!

Trinity is one sad looking guinea pig. Two chincillas edging for attention maybe? Guess its time for a visit to the guinea pig whisperer.
    Love the pics.
