Pew survey: Divisions along religious lines in Presidential race

Pew is a reputable survey organization. Here is their recent religion survey. The video is four minutes long.

A new study into the 2024 election finds voters in the US are divided along religious lines. Former President Trump draws support from 81% of white Evangelical Protestant voters and 61% of white Catholics. By contrast, 77% of black Protestant voters say they are supporting President Biden. He also has support of 87% of atheist voters. Associate Director of Research at Pew Research Center, Greg Smith, joins to tell us about this study and especially the Catholic vote. Smith shares what stood out the most to him and how different Catholic voters were from other religions. He explains how the break down among the faithful is, especially between white and Hispanic Catholics. Smith fills us in on whether he's seen these numbers change at all in recent weeks.

Several months before the 2020 election they had an interesting survey of likely voters. They asked people if they were sure they would ALWAYS vote for one party or the other. 40% said they would ALWAYS vote Democrat no matter what. 29% said they would ALWAYS vote Republican no matter what. To me, this proves two things: (1) Republicans will always have a tougher time and (2) Democrats have more people with tunnel vision.
