Christmas at Farandaville

Was great!

Everyone scrambling for their presents – Brigid wearing her husband-proof PJ’s…

And then we all had White Russians, except I had a Black Russian as shown here –

And hanging out.

After a rest to recover from my Black Russian, a little after 1 o’clock I went over to Croton Point and got in a fairly (4.75 miles) long walk.Took 93 minutes and I only saw about 15 other people. I parked at the soccer field and first walked up to the south end of Half Moon Bay where I took this picture – check out the ice. Yes it was cold and windy…

Then went back south and made a pretty big circuit. This is looking north from close to where the model airplanes are flown. It’s hard to tell but the spot where I took these from is about 80 feet above the Hudson.

Then later on, across the Point and looking north at Ossining.

On the way back to the car, the lower road (past the old wine cellars) was closed to traffic. Storms really eroded the mostly mud road, and you can just make that out in the last two pictures.

Perfect timing – got home right at 3, and half an hour later was eating a beautiful meal of T bone steak, salmon and champagne. What a life!

My lower back did have an interesting discussion with me about going out on that long a walk in weather that cold, but it was handled by tylenol.
