Christmas cocktail – the Alexander (not Brandy Alexander)

Historically the Alexander preceded the Brandy Alexander – you sub dry gin for cognac. It’s worth trying. Surprisingly good – we used exactly the recipe from this super short video. He’s using white creme de cacao and we did also. Of course dark creme de cacao is more traditional.

Farandaville mimicking above.

1 1/2 oz. dry gin

1 oz creme de cacao. (white or dark)

1 oz heavy cream

shake like mad for 20-25 seconds and pour into your glass.

Nutmeg on top! Doesn’t have to be fancy like the video – just grate a small amount on top.
